Marked For Life!

Posted by Kriska Marie at 10:47 PM Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Have you ever done something extreme? Something which you never thought you could? Well Mark and I did!

Mark and I have been joking about having tattoos on our body because we both have big scars (mine is at my back and Mark's is at his forearm). We've agreed on having ourselves marked but we never really took that seriously. We've been searching through the net about famous tattoo artists, shops, and designs. But all of these were really just for fun.

But just this afternoon, as we were talking about this tattoo thing, my mom suggested that we try out the tattoo shop near our place. We really didn't know what got into us and before we knew it, we were marked for life!

I got a butterfly tattoo on my back...

Mark got an ambigram tattoo of his name on his forearm...

Congratulations Manny!!!

Mark and I went off from home at 7am to SM North to watch Pacquiao and Cotto's fight. After eating breakfast at McDonald's, we went straight to Cinema 6.

We got into the cinema at around 8:30am. As usual, there were matches other than Pacquiao and Cotto's, which got me a little bored, so Mark and I decided to go out for a while to buy drinks and popcorn. While waiting in line at the popcorn booth, Mark's attention was caught by a commotion. He went towards it and when he got back he was already holding this:

And then finally, after around 4 hours, came the main event, Pacquiao and Cotto's fight. The first round has just started, but you can already hear and see people shouting and cheering for Pacquiao.

Everyone in the cinema was excited for the fight, but I must say that Mark was the most! It was because he really is a fan of Pacquiao, and because he was both excited and nervous for his mom. Just like in Pacquiao's previous fight with Hatton, Mark's mom again placed a bet on Pacquiao's opponent, but this time it was bigger.

The fight ended at around 2:30pm. As I've said before, I'm not really a fan of boxing, but I still found myself cheering and rejoicing after Manny won! And just like before, everyone in the cinema was very happy when Manny won, except of course for Mark's mom. ;p

After the fight we headed to Trinoma to have lunch and to shop for Christmas gifts. :D

Thanks Bo!

Posted by Kriska Marie at 8:49 PM Monday, November 9, 2009

I've been a fan of Bo Sanchez' blog for almost a year now, special thanks to Jerellt!

Reading Bo's blog has been part of my daily routines. I love reading his posts because the entries are very touching and are nourishing to the soul.

I love a lot of his entries but there is one that I love the most, maybe because I can relate to it a lot. It's about healing emotional wounds through forgiveness. He emphasized on the two stages of forgiveness: Stage One - Get Angry and Stage Two - Release Anger.

Well fine, so much about the teaser. :P Just read the full post HERE. Hope it touches and nourishes your souls the way it touched and nourished mine. :D

(500) Days of Summer

Posted by Kriska Marie at 2:28 PM Sunday, November 8, 2009

Yesterday, Mark and I watched (500) Days of Summer. The movie was good, there were a lot of parts that gave me a good laugh. I also got amazed at seeing a song-and-dance-number in a foreign movie, which is very common to Filipino films. In the middle part of the movie though, I started to get mad at Summer. She was cute, funny, and all, but that didn't stop me from hating her! Well fine, I just hate how she just left Tom all confused and clueless.

Maybe I just got used to stories wherein a guy breaks a girl's heart (for so many reasons, most of which are very lame) and I know, this is what usually happens even in real life. But everything was turned upside down in this movie. It was the girl who broke the guy's heart. Though Summer insisted that she's not interested in being serious, I think she should have just said no from the start. But what she did just gave Tom some hope that's why he still chose to ignore everything that Summer said as he falls for her.

I know, right? I should have just believed in what the narrator told a few seconds after the movie started--"..this is not a love story." But being the hopeless romantic me, I just took the warning lightly and still hoped for a happy ending haha!

After watching the movie, Mark and I agreed at how Summer got us confused, how sorry we felt for Tom, and how the movie got our feelings changed from being happy to being in love to being sad in an instant. But we both liked how the movie made us realize a lot of things.

I must admit that I love the moral lesson of the story. I also admired Tom's bravery of taking the risk even if he doesn't know where it may lead. He hoped for a happy ending (well doesn't, right?) but he was brave enough to let go of everything that wasn't meant for him.

I believe that we should be like Tom. Instead of being angry at people who hurt us, we should be thankful to them. Because the very person that caused us pain might also be the very person who will make us know ourselves more and will make us realize everything that we never thought we are capable of doing.

The very person who gave us all the heartaches that we could ever imagine might also be the one who will make us a better person.

The very person who left us all alone and got us all confused might also be the very person who will lead us to a love that we truly deserve.

My Little Christmas Tree

Posted by Kriska Marie at 8:17 PM Friday, November 6, 2009

My mom already started putting up Christmas decors in our home in as early as September. And being the thoughtful mom that she is, she would always buy extra decors for my office desk.

Every morning before I go to work, she would always remind me of bringing the decors but because I'm always in a hurry, I would always forget about it. Until finally I was able to bring them this morning, good thing my mom placed it in my bag. :)

She bought a mini Christmas tree and Santa Clause candles/figurines. (Sorry for the poor pic quality, I just used the cam of my P900 phone. ;p)

I also have a snowman candle/figurine, which unfortunately I wasn't able to take a picture of, because my phone went off. I forgot to bring my charger! (Oh forgetful me! haha!)

It's been a while since I last shopped online. I got so hooked into online shopping about a year ago. I remember spending around seven thousand pesos on 2 bags that I bought online. :p

I said to myself that I should take it easy in shopping online, well shopping in general I must say, but what can I do? I'm only human, I've got weaknesses, and Hello Kitty is one of them! Haha! I really can't resist the charm of this adorable little feline. So here's another cute addition to my Hello Kitty collection! :)

"Before you say I can't, make sure you've tried.

Before you let doubts stop you, confront them with facts.

Before fear holds you back, go forward with faith.
